This mountain is risen with rock which was shaped like man's genital

Namgeun(genital) rock course (Sungnae-li ~ Muamsa∼ Namgeun(genital) rock∼ Top of the mountain ∼ Sungnae-li). Total time for hiking: 4 hours 30 minutes. Dong Mountain is located at the boundary of Chungcheongbook-do Jecheon-city Geumsung-myeon and Susan-myeon and Danyang-gun Jeoksung-myeon. Mountain chain is connected to Jaksung Mountain (848m, KKachiseong Mountain), Madangjae Mountain (661.2m), Hojo Mountain (475.3m) of north. These mountain chain which spreads to south forms Geumsu Mountain (1015.8m).

People can stop by Namgeun(genital) rock from Muamsa parking lot which is the starting point. The temple is against 'Jaksung Mountain' and this temple is established on the 'valley Hapsumeori.' The temple is surrounded with old pine trees and this sight is elegant. If you look down the valley from 'Geukrakbojeon', it looks like Muamsa is standing on a cliff. Both valleys become united and the mountain chain hugs the valleys dynamically. Muamsa(temple) is surrounded with greenness and refreshing atmosphere.

You may cross 'Muamgol'. 'Kim Geum Ja distress monument stands there next to Jeonju Moak Mountaineering Club. The mountain chain is very high like a long ladder.

If you go up through a dirt road, you can find 'Baebawi Amreung' like skirt behind 'Muamgol'. If you go up again to the next course, you can look down Muamsa(temple) and then in the west, you can see the lakeside with a fresh wind. After this, roads are surrounded with rocks. Erected Amreung was tied with rope. This place is really steep and your legs can tremble. If you go up through Amreung with deep breathing, you can find 'Namgeun(genital) rock' which is located at the end of 'Amreung'. Size of this rock is really majestic because people look so small compared to this rock.

Namgeun(genital) rock is representative rock of Dong Mountain. This rock symbolizes life force and source of life force. This looks like man's genital and this is really similar to real man's genital. This is thick because arms of 2~ 3 adults can be wrapped around Namgeun(genital) rock. Males and females exist. And across the way, a rock with a shape of female sex organ exists in little knoll. This is interesting logic.

From Namgeun(genital) rock, if you go about 50m, you can find Amreung. Around Amreung, you can see wonderful sight. Cheongpoong Lake hugs the end of the foot of this mountain chain. Around this sight, pine trees are really green. If you stand from this place, you can find that Muamsa(temple) is located at vertical cliff. Behind this, Jaksung Mountain looks similar to Dongsan. 'Baebawi' (rock) which is famous for rock climbing spreads to the left side of Muamsa(temple) like a skirt.

If you go up through Amreung with wind from Cheongpoong Lake, you can find a dirt road and slope becomes steeper. In the right side of the foot of this mountain, rocks of fantastic shapes which are general rocks and camel rocks are located. And beyond this place, you can see Cheongpoong Lake. In the center of the lake, Bibong Mountain stands. Rippled wind from Cheongpoong Lake is blowing through the valley. There is hottest sky but the wind is cold. Sound of the wind is like a cry of a mountain peak. If mountain peak which is located at Bongbi rock in Sungnae-li can fly in knoll,,,

If you go up through Amreung by rope, you can reach the 'Jureung turn-off'. After this, the mountain chain spreads to eastern side. If you pass Sungbong(825.7m) which has stone tower under the pine tree, you can see colony of old fine trees. This is earthen mountain. There is no Amreung. This is gentle and wide and flabby. You can see colony of Mongolian Oaks. You can reach the Joongbong(885.6m). In empty space which is about 15-pyeong, a stone tower with the height of an adult stands on it. Over this sight, two old pine trees are standing.

You can find Dong Mountain(896.2m) by going straight from Saemokjae turn-off to the left side (Southeast) about 300m. In the top of this mountain, the rock on top was established by helicopter. Originally, this mountain was called the 'Three peaks'. You can look down Danyang because this place is boundary of an administrative district. And you can see cement quarry.

You can go to 'Saemokjae'. This is the street corner of Dong Mountain and Jaksung Mountain. Paddlers passed to Danyang from Hanyang by this large street. Shapes of this street look like neck of a bird. If you go down through Sobudogol from Saemokjae, you can see vines and graveled paths. Signpost to little knoll stands. You can find pure and clean water and nice-looking pebbles in the valley.

You can reacho 'Muamsaji Budo' which is dagoba before 100m of Muamsa(temple). One small Budo stands with dagoba.

When Uisangdaesa was cutting the trees for establishing the temple and carrying them arduously, one cow helped to carry these woods so that he can establish the temple easily. After this, this cow died and then he cremated this cow. But cremated remains were amazing. Uisangdaesa was impressed by this cow and he established dagoba. Because of this, name of this temple was changed to 'Uam(cow)sa'.

After this, this temple was collapsed by the landslide and someone established this temple again. The big rock was made across this temple so it looks as if the mountain and big rock are united in good weather. But it looks like an old man is standing on the ground with his arms folded in cloudy weather. Therefore, this rock is called 'Rock of mist' or 'Muam'.

If you pass 'Muamsa(temple)', you can find Muamgol. On the street corner, you can see the 'Rock of mist' which looks obvious in cloudy weather. And passing by 'Aegibawi(rock)’ and the 'SBS studio' and you can reach Sungnae-li. There is one phoenix which is crying sorrowfully. This phoenix is 'Bong(Phoenix) myeong rock'.

Hiking of Dong Mountain is based on Sungnae-li Sungnae convenience store which is the entrance of Muamgol. It is 500m from Sungnae convenience store to the parking lot of Uamjaeilje, and it is 500m from Sungnae convenience store to SBS studio, and it is 300m from Sungnae convenience store to the entrance of 'Aegibawi(rock)', and it is 500m from Sungnae convenience store to the entrance of 'Mist rock', and it is 600m from Sungnae convenience store to Muamsa(temple). If you want to go up to Namgeun (genital) rock, you should pass the valley from the parking lot of Muamsa to Seoreung. Slope is steep and rocks of fantastic shapes are considerable. You should take care for this course, but there are good views and cold winds blowing from Cheongpoong Lake. If you go up to the top of this mountain through the ridge and pass 'Saemokjae' and then go down to 'Sobudogol', it takes 4 hours. If you pass 'Jaksung Mountain' from Saemokjae, you can come back to Muamsa(temple).
